Choose a Game Mode

Tecmo Bowl offers three game modes: single-player, two-player, and training mode.

• Training Mode: A strategy mode where players only choose plays for their team.

Choose a team

In the Tecmo Bowl, there are 12 teams to choose from, each with a unique style of play. Despite drawing inspiration from real NFL cities, the game employs fictional team names like "Wildcats" and "Bulldogs."

Offense and defense

The game has a simple strategy book with only 4 offense phases. When defending, players must predict the opponent's offense and choose the corresponding defense strategy. A successful defense can result in a tackle or a pass interception.

Use the arrow keys to move. Press Enter to start and Space to select. To pass the ball when attacking, press A and Z. To run with the ball when attacking, press B and X.
